Why Go Abroad?
For historical reasons, borders have been established to outline differences in the world. Borders define geographic boundaries of political organizations or legal jurisdictions. Even with the existence of borders, there is nothing stopping us from crossing them. Crossing borders allows us to be introduced to different cultures and enter a territory that is undefined by geopolitics. We cross cultures in an effort to expand our opportunities beyond those offered at home. Stepping outside national boundaries allows us to immerse ourselves in a foreign culture while better understanding our own culture. Crossing borders broadens our perspective about alternative lifestyles as well as enhances our marketability in today's interconnected world.
