International Undergraduate Students Program Coordinator

Leaving everything behind that you know and going to a brand new country in hopes of a better future is not easy for anyone. I understand the difficulties and barriers that many newcomers face when they arrive in a brand new country with a new language, new culture and new traditions. Don’t get me wrong though, it isn’t all scary. It is also a time to celebrate something new and exciting.

This is where I come in.

I have a passion for helping students adapt to their new lives in Canada. Whether it be teaching them about their health insurance while they are a student or telling them where to get the best cultural meals in the city. Being an immigrant myself, I understand many of these challenges and love helping students feel confident and comfortable in this new place they now call “home.”

Student Success Coach (International Students)
Phone: 21650

As your Student Success Coach, I am here to assist you with any questions you may have about adjusting and settling into McMaster, and to support your academic, personal and professional success.

I have been fortunate to explore and experience many cultures as an ESL teacher (Busan, Korea), an exchange student (Dijon, France), a traveller (40+ countries) and with my MA-Intercultural Communications (residency in Hangzhou, China), which is why I am passionate to help support international students during their time at McMaster.

Canadian culture, climate and cuisine might be new, the teaching style and expectations at McMaster might be different and you might be experiencing difficulties adjusting life in Canada. I am here to answer your questions as they come up, so you can make the transition to Canada more comfortable.

I am happy to assist you with adaptation challenges, academic concerns, financial difficulties, getting involved and connecting with other students, understanding what your professors expect of you as a student, navigating and understanding the supports and resources on-campus, and any other questions or concerns you have.

Even if you aren’t sure who to ask, connect with me and I’ll refer you to the right person.  I look forward to meeting you during your journey at McMaster!

As the Education Abroad Coordinator, I’m passionate about helping students take their learning beyond borders.

While completing my own undergraduate degree, I studied abroad for a semester in France and fell in love with the daily discovery, growth and perspective afforded by extended cultural immersion. Post-graduation, my semester abroad acted as a stepping-stone to an international contract working in New Zealand, facilitated by the working holiday visa’s offered through International Experience Canada. Both experiences have shown me the incredible personal and professional value of international programs, and their important contributions to global relationships.
